Some harmful traditional and cultural practices in nigeria

This practices i believe have caused so much damages in this country a the major one i detest so much is....
FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION/CUTTING : what we usually call circumcision,yoruba people call it suna i detest it not because i think is wrong but because of this lies that they its reason for been done.
BELIEFS: there is this belief that cutting her gental organs will control her sexuality and that it will help ensure she remains a virgin before marriage and her fidelity thereafter some say its for hygiene purpose .i dont know whats you guys take on this but for me its all a myth infact enh i believe it is a lie told on purpose for reasons best known to them sha.
CONSEQUENCES: I believe all this was done in those ignorant days when we they know not the consequences, this process can cause some sudden acute pains,hemorrhage, infections (hiv blood poisoning tetanus hepatitis b ) serious pains during menstruation,painful intercourse serious mental effect even death.
TYPES: we actually have different types of FGM but all of them na big big grammar but it will really interest you if you read more on them 1.clitoridectomy
2.infibulations.
3.introcision
4.circumcision
Well..the good news is FGM is now a criminal offence in some states in nigeria and the rate of girls subjected to this cruel act is reducing with every generation.our female children are so tender and fragile lets not subject them to this act of cruelty. Please lets hear your take on this.
