NIGERIA, KILL THE VIRUS WITHIN!!!
Just as you don't cut a tree from the top, or build a house from the roof. the change we so desire begins with us (individuals). Although the government has a great role to play in having a better Nigeria, we have a greater role. It begins in the market place when an I**o man calls a #250 belt #2500 (from my personal experience), and if you pay, that's it, he just made 1000% gain. Some individuals might beat the price before buying, but not all will. lets be religious about it and lets not at the same time, would you want to be a victim of that?
Another experience was a bike man deciding to transport two people he picked from the same spot and is taking to the same destination at different fare cost. This is how it plays out, he picks you up and tells you the fare is #400 to the junction, maybe its not your usual route! he then moves barely an inch try to pick another passenger and the person calls a ridiculous price compared to the amount he charged you maybe #100, the bike man quickly signals to him either by winking and says #400 out loud. Now, you get to where you are both to alight, the funny game begins, either the passenger is squeezing #100 into the bike man's hand so fast or the bike man collects the money so fast to avoid you the innocent passenger seeing the amount, another tactic is to pretend he is looking for change, until you pay and leave, then he releases the other person or they both wait for you to pay and leave before he pays.
Another is the height of examination malpractice. Imagine getting WEAC questions and answers as broadcast message the morning before the paper gets to the candidates. Our gas stations are not left out, what exactly is the extra money collected when you buy with gallons used for? Police check points, another story entirely. Our religious place of worship, politics everywhere. The list is endless. Bottom line, the change begins with US. With you and me. God bless Nigeria.
