Let the corrupt wear and tear
Let the past wear and tear
Let the selfish leaders wear and tear
Let the bullies wear and tear
Let the killers of visions wear and tear

Chant! October first is here again but this time my darling country clock 57, what an era...!
Chant! We imagine Joy, Merry and no heart felt big smiles and hugs amongs Nigerians.
Chant the old fools that call themselves leaders of today.
Looting vastly, talk hoodwinkingly, walk freely and still hope to make heaven
Chant our old country still in Creche in her state of mind
Chant! Chant!! Chant!!!
Chant the independent but dependent nation

But for the sake of your Heroes
overcoming hurdles and Struggles
Against all odds and cost
For those who will never give up
For the sake of those who died with the thought of you
For the sake of blood spilling and sacrifice
For the sake of those who still believe in you
Arise O compatriots
Arise O Nigeria
For the Overnight Poet with foresight to say
Happy Independence Nigeria
