NHL Draft - Quiet Night
The NHL draft was very quiet tonight. After a week where the rumors of moves of trades running rampant, the first round of the draft went by without much action. I really let myself get sucked in by all of the insanity leading into the draft and found myself quite disappointed as it blew by with no big moves. I still enjoyed the night but as a fan I was hoping to see at least one big trade.
A minor trade happened before the draft and a few small trades swapping draft picks happened mid draft but beyond that the only drama for the evening was a few off the board picks that stirred things up. It will be interesting to look back on this draft in a few years to see how all of the different teams and their gambles pay off.
Rounds 2-7 go tomorrow, I won't be glued to the TV like I was tonight but I will be checking my phone frequently awaiting updates!
