Next Colony - When?
Been playing this game for a good 2 months or so at least it feels like and I still can't produce a ship ???
Does anyone know when ?
My current skills are
Shipyard 13
Explorer 18
Do ship researches have to be fully filled to build which I would guess is level 20 ?
Does exploring help you build in the game much faster?
Would love some feedback and tips from anyone please I love these types of games but i'm struggling with this one lol.
Got to get to 20 on explorer. Then you can explore for new planets.

one of these days... lol does exploring help greatly in resources and being able to build up faster would it be the right first move?
I’m sure what the best strategy is. I have explored quite a bit but only found 1 planet. I just hope to find a legendary planet.

You need to have explorer skill at level 20 to be able to build.
If you play mostly free, to be able to build a ship of a certain type, you need its skill developed to 20.
It is possible to buy blueprints for special ships from the shop, in which case I don't know if you need the base ship skill leveled up, but you'd better ask in discord to be sure.
I am also not sure if you need the skill fully developed if you buy a ship from someone else.
You also need Mission Control skill at least 1 to launch a mission, that is certain.
Skill is necessary.

you are in the awkward phase of the game where progress, I feel, is at it's hardest.
The way I see it there are two strategies where you stand and you have mostly decided.
You could be an explorer or a Pirate,
An explorer will get more resources by finding new planets and building new colony. You need transporters to bring resources to the planet, once found, so work on that soon.
A Pirate will get ahead by looting other nearby planets. To do this you need to build up some ships.
Most people are exploring from what I can tell. I am not an expert, just started exploring myself but if you have not seen it yet check this resource for looking around your planet.
