Vivacious and Vibrant Mouthwatering Moroccan Dinner In Wellington, New Zealand

Went to Wellington for a weekend getaway. We were fasting during the day , so wanted to eat something very delicious for dinner.

After searching on google and checking out the list of halal restaurants in Wellington, we decided to have a full of spice and full of life, Moroccan dinner at a Moroccan restaurant in Wellington.

The eatery is called “Marrakech Cafe”.

Marrakech is actually the Arabic name of Morocco. So the name of the restaurant is quite straight forward.

This restaurant has beautiful, vibrant and traditional Moroccan decor.

The walls were painted in bright colors. There were Moroccan lights hanging from the ceiling. Different Moroccan artifacts and decoration pieces were hanging on the walls and placed on the shelves.

They had Moroccan folk music playing.

The menu had so many tempting items.

I order the sweet and flavorful “Berber Tagine”. It is tender lamb cooked in plum sauce with diced sweet potatoes served on top of cuscus with two juicy cooked plums on side and pistachios sprinkled on top.

Wow... mouthwatering ... isn’t it.

My husband ordered “Chicken Tagine”. Which came with the rice on side.
Chicken Tagine, had tender chicken cooked with peas and some other nutrients-packed vegetables.

Thinking and writing about the ingredients of this delicious dinner, is making me hungry and craving for it again.

The food was amazing. It was delicious and flavorful. Besides being delicious, it was packed with nutrition.

We finished our dinner with desserts.

The deserts were delicious, but they were not as special as the main course.
I am guessing desserts is not as much importance as the main dish, in Moroccan cuisine.

After having this lovely dinner, I have become a fan of Moroccan cuisine.

I think Moroccan food is truly amazing.
In my opinion, Moroccan cuisine is one of the best cuisines in the world.
