Newslink : Vegetarian café refuses to take new £5 note over animal fat row

The owner of a vegetarian café has said she will no longer accept new
£5 notes until they are made without animal products.

Sharon Meijland, owner of the Rainbow Cafe in Cambridge, Cambs., put
up signs warning customers about the new note policy last Wednesday.

The move came following an outcry from some vegetarians and religious
groups as the new notes have tallow in them, a type of animal fat.
