9:20 - But. You stated there wasn't enough support for anarchism, and that we can not live as anarchists while we are being ruled over.
24:20 - But. You stated that people you talk to, argue/advocate the need for government.
46:15 - You do a great Obama impression.
If you feel like you understand voluntarism is possible you certainly did not seem very optimistic about it. Like Adam is saying there will still be government, just they wont be able to steal from people, and eventually we will find better places to spend our money in a more effective way to protect people from aggression/aggressive, violent, coercive situations. Most of which are caused by government theft/tax.
You're right, I'm not too optimistic about voluntarism, I love the idea but I don't think we will have a voluntarist society in my lifetime.
Yeah, and the main reason is that individual liberty lovers, who are also willing to accept the individual responsibility that goes along with individual liberty, are greatly out numbered by collectivists.
There are two groups of people. One group wants to control others for certain reasons, and the other group doesn't want to control anyone for any reason. I do not wish to control anyone for any reason.
The difference between government and governance is that the first is protected by double standards under the law. They rule over everyone else. Government is not required anymore than tyrants are.
Voluntaryists seek governance without government and rules without rulers. There would still be leaders people followed voluntarily too. The key is impartiality under the law and everyone consenting. Why is that too much to ask? It's because most people want to control other people.
No thanks! I'll pass.
Things change faster than you think. Did you ever think Liberland would exist in your lifetime?
