Graphics card makers will be “forced to slash prices” after GPU shipments fall by 40%
Good news for pc gamers as the graphic card prices are soon expected to become a lot cheaper due to decline in sales thanks to slow down in demand for cryptocurrency miners.
According to Digitimes,
These companies are graphic card manufacturers licensed from AMD and Nvidia. Not only these companies will suffer but we also expect the other companies to suffer the same aspect.
The major fall we see is due to lack of demand in cryptocurrency mining which has forced the mining distributors and retailers to cancel their graphic card orders. Moreover we also have Bitmain which is specially designed for mining soon releases its first Ethereum and Monero mining later this year.
According to Digitimes,
The distributors for sure will be forced to lower down their prices, which will result in their gross margins coming down from 50% to 20%.
The trend in the crypto space is towards POS cryptos. Everyone knows GPU-based POW mining may become problematic/not viable at some point due to power and centralization issues.
On the flip side, gamers will finally be able to buy GPUs at reasonable prices again.
