RE: America’s Venezuela Strategy: Coup By Sheer Narrative Control

in #news6 years ago

My opinion as a Venezuelan one: Hello, my dear brother in Steemit--- Very interesting your post and very well supported in facts that are true, but, and it is the good thing of the free and dispassionate debate, even when obviously I cannot deny how sinister it has been and can be that tangle of vermin that hide under what for simplify we call the U.S. Government, I have to say - -and it is said by someone who will always be on the left and who at the time supported and believed that Chavez would take my poor and disillusioned country out of its historic misery as an oil nation--, what was he and all the military gang and their civilian acolytes who, with their disproportionate appetite for corruption, one of the greatest in the history of humanity, laid the bases to make a good part of the population today naively think that an invasion of the Marines is the only possible solution.
With all the pain in my heart I must say that in this war, until now unarmed, all sides have marked cards and a large dose of cynicism ... Personally, I don't see a way out that is ethically correct, but when one learns, for example, of the extensive privileges enjoyed by the leaders of dangerous criminal gangs - here we call them Pranes - as long as they support and serve those who occupy a monolithic power, then there is nothing left to say: Maduro and all the leaders of Chavismo --who count with the repudiation of the great majority of the population-- must leave the government to, at least, begin to build something that can be called a State....
Of course, it would be foolish to think that the so-called opposition leaders and their supporters abroad are innocent lambs... The situation is very complex, my friend, and in the meantime each day the hunger and the failure -basically due to lack of maintenance and investment- of all public services bring us closer and lead us to total discouragement. I am a university professor - I earn less than 4 dollars a month - and in addition to encouraging my students, whom I have seen lose weight, I teach them to be extremely critical and distrustful of all that Lyotard called Meta narratives, particularly political stories. I think that if the painful Venezuelan experience is to be of any use, it is to build new forms of social organization totally far from the traditional tricks of politicians.

Greetings from a Venezuelan artist . Of course my little upvote to you and I'll follow you ;-)
