Jan 2018. Latest fake news from The Sun, UK. Yet another truck scare!! :/
25 January 2018
Murdoch trash rag The Sun reported on 23rd January that a truck carrying 34,000 litres (or is it 33,000?) of an "unknown substance" which "could be used to make explosives", was stolen in Zedelgem, Belgium. This article is full of mindless assumptions, scaremongering, and of course a complete lack of any evidence for anything they are claiming. I highlight particular passages, disect them and annotate them beneath.
"The truck was carrying a volatile substance known as "Radiacid", according to Spanish-based Radio Nacional reporter Laura Alonso." (Who knew this how?)
"Italy, whose media reported the vehicle's number plate as 1-QEB-708, is said to have increased vigilance and security at crossing points." (Agenda: heightened security, militarisation of law enforcement.)
"Only in November a football match between Belgium and Japan, held in Brussels, was almost called off due to fears over a terror threat." (Agenda: confusion, fearmongering. Apparently unmaterialised "threats" = noteworthy incidents.)
"The terrifying trend of attacks involving trucks has also loomed large over the last few years." (Agenda: automated vehicles, regurgitating the lies of the recent past.)
"Today's alleged theft in Belgium comes just one day after Belgium lowered its terror threat level after three years of high alert." (What a coincidence! Agenda: keep 'terror threat level' high indefinitely.)
