Anthrax is an extremely deadly disease, and can be economically devastating for agriculture.

In Clark County, South Dakota, a state veterinarian has confirmed that 8 of 87 unvaccinated cattle died from anthrax. Anthrax generally leaves livestock dead with no sign of illness. Pastures can be left with loads of dead cows fallen over on the ground.

As is commonly done with diseased animals, the cows were burned.
