Ex-Perth Mint Staff stole a 1kg Gold Bar - By hiding it in his underwear - Jailed for 15 months

An Ex-Perth Mint worker who stole a $50,000 valued 1KG #gold bar did it by hiding it in his underwear is jailed for 15th months - Sentenced today by Judge Bruce Goetze.

What I want to discuss is a saying I used to hear when I was in the army. It is something our officers used to say to us.
Do anything you want - as long as you don't get caught
Sadly in a place where rules are a million and more, such incident within The Perth Mint has caused the morale of staff working in there to be at an all time low. More to this story here.
The gist is simply that in the future, "Perth Mint staff may be forced to wear work-issued bras to improve security". This is clearly an infringement on women's rights and does not add any value to the security chain in any sense whatsoever.
Let's see how the stories develop as I have friends who work there. Sigh...

Oh dear... He must have been very desperate to have to resort to such actions..
Well i guess this person has to pay for his crime. Even though he managed to get the bar out, he has to pay for his crime. As the sayings goes, you do the crime, you do the time. I am surprised that his jail terms is so short. This will encourage others to try since the jail term is not significant. The future offenders will be smarter as can learn from this story....will explore other ways to dispose of the gold.

Technically he did get out of the Mint.. It was after 3 months after he left the job and he went to cash converters to sell the bar - AND when cash converters went to The Perth Mint to on-sell the bar, only did they realise that they were buying back their own bar which was meant to be melted but lost...
