Top Newsweek Editors Suddenly Quit
Editor-in-chief and executive editor for Newsweek have been fired! In addition to that, one financial issues reporter was also let go.
When reached out to, these three previous Newsweek employees didn’t respond, save for one comment on twitter
My warmest thanks to the brave Newsweek editors and colleagues who supported and shared in my work — especially our recent, difficult stories about the magazine itself — before my dismissal today. I'll sleep well tonight... and I'm looking for a job!
We’re not sure what’s going on over there, but just last week co-owner / chairman of Newsweek Media Group and his wife (the company's finance director) both stepped down.
I’m not sure what’s going on, but last month the Manhattan District Attorney’s office raided the company’s offices, taking some servers. The Newsweek spokesperson said that the raid was a part of the ongoing investigation of the Newsweek finances.
For something to get this big, you wonder what kind of money issue are they trying to avoid. I don’t think it’s simply taxes, then it would be the IRS going after them. Comment on what you think is going on.
