The Indian police are chasing a monkey who kidnapped a baby.
Police in India are looking for a monkey who allegedly kidnapped a baby, whose body was later found inside a well in eastern Orissa state.
The infant's mother reported that she had seen the incident while she was in the accident but could not save her baby.
One of the family relatives found the body of the baby in a well behind the house one day after he was kidnapped by the monkey who entered the baby's house.
Police officers say this is "very rare", although the monkeys are often seized and are sabotaging property in the area.
"We hope to catch the monkey within a week," said a local police officer in the BBC.
"While monkeys attacking humans or entering houses in search of food are fairly common, this is the first case where a child is kidnapped by a monkey," he added.
