The journal "Astronomical Bulletin" published an article about a new planet that was discovered by Russian scientists in early 2023. The celestial body boasts a giant ocean of liquid resembling vodka in composition.

This planet is similar in size to Mars, but about 30% of its area is covered by the ocean. Spectral analysis allowed us to conclude that it does not contain water or even alcohol, but rather vodka. Gennady Klyuvin, Chief Researcher at the Institute of Astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, emphasized separately: only in Russia there are devices that allow determining the presence of such a liquid on other planets.

The distance from Earth to the planet is 108 light years, it orbits the star GJ9827 in the constellation Pisces. So far, experts have not given a name to the new celestial body – according to the current rules, this can be done after confirmation of the discovery by the International Astronomical Union.

"There are several suggestions: "Russian", "Ours", "Bacchus". We already call it the White Planet among ourselves. We will receive an official document from colleagues and we will think," one of the discoverers told Komsomolskaya Pravda.
