As Military Drops A Bomb Every 12 Mins, Supreme Court Upholds Ban on Refugees Created By US

in #news6 years ago

As statistics show that the United States Military drops a  bomb every 12 minutes, the Supreme Court has ruled in favor of a ban on  refugees from the countries that are being destroyed by the U.S. The decision was announced on Tuesday after the Supreme  Court ruled, 5-4, that a ban on travel from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia,  Sudan, Syria, and Yemen, does not discriminate against Muslims, and is  within President Trump’s authority to enact. “The entry suspension is an act that is well within  executive authority and could have been taken by any other president—the  only question is evaluating the actions of this particular president in  promulgating an otherwise valid proclamation,” Chief Justice Roberts wrote in the court’s opinion.

The White House released a statement calling the ruling a “moment  of profound vindication following months of hysterical commentary from  the media and Democratic politicians who refuse to do what it takes to  secure our border and our country.”      In response to the rule, the Chicago office of the Council on  American-Islamic Relations, a Muslim civil rights and advocacy group,  released a statement condemning the decision and calling it “a miscarriage of justice.”

The Supreme Court had an opportunity to remind this country that  all of us, regardless of where we were born, what we look like, or how  we pray, are welcome, and they failed. This ban was inspired by—and  remains—contrary to the values of freedom and equality that are central  to who we aspire to be as a nation,” Sufyan Sohel, the group’s Deputy Director and counsel, told CNN. In her dissent, Justice Sotomayor criticized Trump’s history of calling for a “total and complete ban” on Muslims entering the United States and his support of the ban because he argued that the U.S. needed “a travel ban for certain dangerous countries.”

One of the main things that both the majority of politicians who  disagree with the travel ban, and the mainstream media pundits who  criticize it, do not seem to be addressing is the fact that these “dangerous countries”  in the Middle East have the United States to thank for a large amount  of the turmoil and destruction that has reduced cities to rubble, fueled  sectarian violence, and killed countless innocent civilians—just over  the last 18 years.

As Lee Camp noted in an op-ed  for Truth Dig, the U.S. Military is dropping an average of one bomb  every 12 minutes—all of which is done illegally and without  authorization from Congress. That fact alone should warrant 24/7  coverage from CNN and Fox News, and should prompt sit-ins and protests  from every member of Congress who actually wants to make a difference  during their tenure.

“The United States military drops an explosive with a strength you can hardly comprehend once every 12 minutes,” Camp wrote. “And  that’s odd because we’re technically at war with—let me think—zero  countries. So that should mean zero bombs are being dropped, right?”

“Donald Trump’s administration puts all previous  presidents to shame. The Pentagon’s numbers show that during George W.  Bush’s eight years he averaged 24 bombs dropped per day, which is 8,750  per year. Over the course of Obama’s time in office, his military  dropped 34 bombs per day, 12,500 per year. And in Trump’s first year in office, he averaged 121 bombs dropped per day, for an annual total of 44,096. Trump’s military dropped 44,000 bombs in his first year in office.”

The argument stands that if the United States actually wanted to  prevent an overflow of refugees coming from the Middle East, then it  should stop destroying their homes and cities, and killing their  families with bombs. Yet the travel ban stands—now with the support of the U.S. Supreme  Court—and the same government that claims it is necessary to prevent  terrorists from “dangerous countries,” ignores the fact that the countries responsible for 93 percent of terrorism in the United States are not included.

Great article, loved it! I would also mention that the #1 most effective way to get rid of the deep state is to stop funding it, as in stop paying taxes. You mention boycotting deep state companies, which is effective, but so long as the deep state is in control of and pulling the strings of the state, the most effective boycott is of the state itself, imo: Stop funding the state, and if enough people do so, the state's ability to fund war disappears... And isn't the U.S. the biggest deep state corporation of all? Again, loved the article, just figured I'd throw my 2 cents out there.

Thx :)

What exactly do you mean by stop paying taxes?

Mainly the income tax and related taxes collected by the IRS. I understand it is not very feasible for most people, with the way society is set up, but if enough people were willing to refuse to pay the income tax (which goes directly to pay off interest on national debt), it would be doable. Small businesses could refuse to withhold from their employees and business owners could refuse to pay their own.

Certainly not easy, but with enough principled people, I feel it is possible. Henry David Thoreau managed to find a way and refused to pay his taxes while denouncing the Mexican war, and was jailed for it, but they can only jail so many people... For me it is a moral issue. I feel morally obligated to refuse to fund a government engaging in perpetual unjust war-for-profit-and-oil, so long as I am able, and believe if enough people did this, it would be one large step towards de-funding war and the deep state who perpetuates war. Definitely still only one step, and everything in your article would also be highly effective if enough people did it.

I think that's the major problem with even the best and most effective plans to bring down the deep state - they all require enough of the people being on board with the plan, and it seems too many people just don't care enough to do what it takes. Really all we need is for enough of a majority of the people to refuse to join the military, and a majority of those in the military to quit their jobs, and there would immediately be a massive shortage of soldiers making war impossible. But again, enough of the people have to truly want peace, for peace to become a reality, and enough of the people have to truly want the end of the deep state for the deep state to be dismantled. I hope more and more people begin to take the steps outlined in your article, and maybe the deep state can even be dismantled in our lifetimes. Thanks again for the link to the article - really appreciated the read!

How many people would have to refuse to pay taxes? Still, if only dedicated people did this and they all got locked up, there'd kind of be no one left to really take on the deep state. So maybe let's focus on legal stuff for now ;)

The thing is though, not even that seems to be popular. Sure, I can't actually see how many views my article has (which I think is crazy), but I'm not getting the impression that people are sharing it left and right (it was the top non-Vietnam-related blog on Minds for like a day or so, but still). Then again, I'm also getting the impression that it's getting censored, so maybe that explains it to some extent.

But my favorite part is that almost none of the bigger people/outlets in the alternative media have covered, shared, or even publicly addressed it yet. No, I'm not saying they're all controlled opposition, but considering that the establishment basically controls 100 percent of the mainstream media, I don't think it's much of a stretch to assume that it may also control 90 or more percent of the alternative media. Not to mention, they all love to bitch about the deep state and everything but fail to mention how "easy" it is to take it down. I mean, have you ever seen any of them publish an article (or video) similar to mine? If some random sleep-deprived asshole like me can do it, surely they can too. And yeah, they sometimes give us a way or two to defund the deep state a little, but, out of those, at least one often just leads to a different deep state corporation...
However, when you factor in the companion pieces I wrote, it is quite a lot to go through and fact-check, so I guess I should give them some more time before I start bitching for real ;)

And regarding how many people it would take to really get things done: around a hundred thousand would be enough to get rid of electronic voting machines in like half of the states (so less than one per mille of the population). But yeah:

"Enough of the people have to truly want peace, for peace to become a reality, and enough of the people have to truly want the end of the deep state for the deep state to be dismantled."

Excellent post! No surprise Trump is dropping more bombs than Obama, just as Obama dropped more bombs than Bush... It isn't the president behind the endless war, it is the war profiteers - the bankers and arms manufacturers. Amazing some still think Trump is this 'anti-deep state' hero, while it is war itself which feeds the deep state. If only people could begin to see how simple peace could be if they really wanted it - if enough people stopped funding the state with their taxes, and stopped sending their sons and daughters to enlist as soldiers, (or joining the service themselves), there could be no more war. Because without funding and soldiers, war becomes impossible!

Sadly, it appears the average American cares more about paying off their high-interest loans & mortgages, and all the new things they wanna buy, than they do about truly creating world peace... Or even a world in which this country isn't dropping bombs or funding those who do, and in which any wars being fought are not being fought or funded by the US. But maybe one day the people will wake up and seize peace, rather than simply wishing for it.
