Leaked Pixel 3 XL photos in Clearly White show off an orange power button and huge chin
Hands-on photos of the Clearly White Google Pixel 3 XL have just leaked.
The white colorway appears to keep the contrasting-colored power button.
The fastboot menu confirms that at least one variant of the phone will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
If you were a fan of the black and white (panda) Google Pixel 2 XL from last year, it unfortunately doesn’t look like Google will be bringing back the design with the Pixel 3 XL. But thanks to several leaked hands-on photos of the Clearly White variant from XDA Developers, it at least looks like Google will keep the contrasting-colored power button around.
While these images don’t provide us with any new details about the Pixel 3 XL, they do give us further visual confirmation of the handset’s design. First, we have to talk about the display. At this point, it has been made overly clear that Google is moving forward with the notch and is using it to house the front-facing sensors and earpiece. But even though the notch provides more screen real estate to users, Google then interrupts the all-screen illusion by including a large chin. At least it does serve a purpose as a place for the lower front-facing speaker.
Although it might be hard to see, there is a dual-tone white design covering the back of the handset which extends to the edges of the phone. Just like with the leaked images of the black Pixel 3 XL, it appears as though the back of the handset is made out of glass and the lower two-thirds of the design is covered in a plastic-like material to provide grip. If the rumors about the Google-made Pixel Stand are true, this glass back could be used for wireless charging purposes.
That’s about all we can learn about the Pixel 3 XL from these leaked shots. The fastboot menu does confirm that at least one variant of the handset will be powered by 4GB of RAM and have 64GB of built-in storage. As the phone will likely run on the Snapdragon 845 CPU, performance will likely rival most of the other 2018 flagships. It would be nice to see a slight spec increase up to 6GB of RAM with the 128GB model, but we’ve yet to see any details of that kind appear online.
