BBPOM Aceh Find 6 Food Takjil Allegedly Contains Hazardous Substances

The Center for Drug and Food Control (BBPOM) found six food samples to break the fast (takjil) which is suspected to contain harmful ingredients such as borak. The results were found during a shipment at a market location takjil in the Banda Aceh region.

Head of BBPOM Aceh, Zulkifli said the results of inspection and supervision of food in three sub-districts of Kuta Raja, Syiah Kuala and Bandar Raya. It has conducted laboratory tests as many as 64 samples of various types of food.

From that result, said Zulkifli, BBPOM found four samples of noodles containing borak found in front takjil seller Masjid Raya Lhong Raya. Results takjil surveillance yesterday, after tested found dangerous materials such as formalin, borak, rhodamin B and methanil yellow.

There, there are 20 samples, 16 MS (qualified) and 4 TMS (not qualified) test results are Borak on mi, Zulkifili said in his statement to reporters on Saturday (19/5).

In addition in Lampaseh area there are about 22 samples. Result of test, 20 stated MS and 2 TMS contain borax. Namely 1 on noodles and 1 tempe crackers. Then in other locations, in Lamnyong area, there are 22 samples that laboratory tested. All MS test results.

So the total we tested 64 samples. MS 58 and 6 are thought to contain Borate and will be tested further in the laboratory, Zulkifli said.

Previously, Zulkifli appealed for noodles and cendol is one of the foods that should be suspected to contain dangerous substances such as borax and formalin. Includes textile dyes used for beverage coloring.

It will continue to supervise all districts in Banda Aceh to maintain the quality of fasting food.

Our whole target in the sub-district of Banda Aceh will check food samples, from yesterday to today, even weeks later, he said.

Zulkifli asserted, it will crack down on traders caught selling foods containing hazardous substances.
