Nittaya Sawasdiwan fell from the Rama VII bridge into the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok on January 2. Taxi driver Pataradanai Noomsrinart was with her at the time after she reportedly hired him to take her to the location.
According to the taxi driver, the woman had been crying in the cab on the way to the bridge. It is not known why the woman took her own life. Her family have been informed about the incident. Mr Noomsrinart could now face charges for failing to help a person in danger, which carries jail time of one month or a fine of 10,000 baht (£229).
