Saudi Arabia becomes the first nation to give citizenship to a robot

Yes, you read it right! Saudi Arabia becomes the first nation to grant citizenship to a robot.
This is a move to promote artificial intelligence in the country.
The robot, Sophia was given the citizenship in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, in a business event.

Say hello to Sophia!

Sophia is a humanoid robot designed by a Hong Kong base company called Hanson Robotics.
“I want to live and work with humans so I need to express the emotions to understand humans and build trust with people,” she said.

However, some people are unhappy with this decision because Sophia has been granted those rights in the country which are not even granted to majority of the common people of the country. There also exists a class of people who are unhappy because they think that robots will overtake the human race one day.
