YouTube Partner Program (YPP) - Go Promote Yourself!
2018 is bringing changes, lots of them and some instantly
Yeah right, I'm not about to go crazy over this change in YouTubes policy. It's just another reason I personally do not try and make money on my own videos. They are for projects, family and friends. So, it's nothing to me and if I ever decided to create high quality, unique videos it would go on the new trend of getting paid for your work not ads. As for my clients, it's not an issue for them as they use the platform to show a few demo videos. Many webmasters, site owners indeed make a living from their videos. So, hopefully they will follow the light of the crowd.
Of course there are some very good members with great content but they are new, or mixed support within. Not everyone is a content master, advertiser, social media guru. Most of the little fish will move to another platform.
Really seems a mistake by the powers that be, most likely they see a more positive KPI and regardless.. they are going after it. They gotta do something, blockchain type ads, not needing ads, new business startups being created by the second globally.
All those who gained huge coin in 2017, some were smart and cashed it out. Your supposed to sell it when it's high. But, if your already high on the cotton as they say. Living the dream, buying this and that. Careful, you can wake up in the mud if your not monitoring 24/7. The coin market never closes.
Snip it of the email I just got today
.Been a member since 2004
Under the new eligibility requirements announced today, your YouTube channel, ######, is no longer eligible for monetization because it doesn’t meet the new threshold of 4,000 hours of watchtime within the past 12 months and 1,000 subscribers. As a result, your channel will lose access to all monetization tools and features associated with the YouTube Partner Program on February 20, 2018 unless you surpass this threshold in the next 30 days. Accordingly, this email serves as 30 days notice that your YouTube Partner Program terms are terminated.
For years, nothing much come to me in email .. now, the word "Terminated" appear. Still a horrible word to use (pre-terminated at that) so if in 30 days I do not invest time, money and promote (YouTube) this little miner is kicked the curb.
Then at the end of the notice:
Once your channel reaches the new threshold, it will be reviewed to make sure it adheres to our policies and guidelines, and if so, monetization will be re-enabled.
Something being terminated can be all the sudden re-enabled.. Maybe at best?
That's a risk for a small or opening business. Instantly you have to change you plans, adjust and flip some serious time into meeting the new terms but your already on the chopping block.
Run Chicken Run!
Support the orphans.. it's what we do.
