Sometimes it's tough keeping up with all the news the happen every day, maybe we are working too much or we are simply distracted by other things so we tend to not pay much attention to what's happening around us and on our world.
That's why I decided to give you all a rundown of the most important and/or popular news for this week that is just ending so you can be up-to-date with the recent happenings. The list is not limited by country, it's a special selection of all the world news.
5. Scientists Discover Water Ice On The Moon's Surface
It was confirmed that there is indeed water ice on the moon's surface, that is an outstanding discovery that opens even more the potential possibility of a human colony on our beloved satellite. Before, it was said that water ice could be on the moon, but this week it was stated that the fact is absolutely certain.
The ice is located around the poles of our moon at the bottom of craters that are hidden in shadow. However, while it is somewhat abundant at the south pole, there are just scattered fragments at the north. The idea of a human colony on the moon suddenly got more feasible.
4. Lazy Town's Stefán Karl Stefansson Dies At 43.
Icelandic actor Karl Stefansson died august 21, victim of bile duct cancer at the age of 43. He had fours kids; three girls and a boy. There won't be a funereal honoring him, instead, by his wishes, his remains will be scattered in secrecy in a distant ocean.
The actor was best known for playing Robbie Rotten in the world famous kids show Lazy Town which aired from 2004 to 2014 and was broadcasted on more than 100 countries.
He was diagnosed with cancer in 2016 and unfortunately lost the battle, he often updated his fans about his condition on social media. He will be missed.
3. Trump’s Ex-Lawyer Implicated The President In A Federal Crime
USA's president continues to give the world something to talk about. Michael Cohen, a former lawyer to President Trump, was indicted on multiple counts of fraud. In court, he also directly accused the president of breaking federal campaign finance laws.
The accusations relate to hush money Cohen paid to adult film actress Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal, both of whom allegedly had sex with Trump after he married Melania. Cohen has already admitted paying Daniels $130,000 in the last days of the 2016 campaign to buy her silence.
Previously, he had claimed to have paid her out of his own money under his own initiative. In court Tuesday, he told the judge that he’d been personally ordered by Donald Trump to make the payment.
The president has since said that he paid the money personally, that no crime was committed, and that Cohen is lying to save himself.
2. A Tiny Bone Fragment Reveals The 50,000 Year-Old Child of Two Extinct Hominin Species
The meeting and mating of a Neanderthal and a Denisovan has been discovered thanks to the bone remains of a 13 year old girl who was the child of both species, inside a cave in Siberia. The two species lived in Eurasia until they were replaced by the modern humans that we know today. 40,000 years ago.
When scientists inspected the little bones, they discovered her sex and her unusual parentage. A Neanderthal mother and Denisovan father. This new piece of information helps us better understand our past, and were we come form. It's amazing how much we can learn just from tiny piece of ancient bone.
1. Venezuela's New Developments Bring Chaos And Uncertainty To The Country
With monday's appearance of Venezuela's new bill, which eliminates five zeroes from the currency, and the hyperinflation, there was a lot of confusion among the citizens. They can't seem to catch a break since there are a lot of big changes happening for them: the massive currency devaluation, implementation of a new minimum wage, hike taxes, and raising gasoline prices for most citizens even as the country struggles with the greatest hyperinflation on record, surpassing even that of the Weimar Republic.
Additionally, the new version of the bolivar will be pegged to the value of the state cryptocurrency, the petro. Many people are leaving the country in response of the drastic changes.
Only time will tell if these changes will help Venezuela for the better.
