Been days since i created any post, been occupied with work couple with the fact that my mobile device was stolen and we recorded a huge fire disaster in our neighboring state with fire revenging the livelihood of a lot of people losing million dollars worth of properties and investment just in a few minutes , there have been panic, hardship and sadness as this unforeseen incident has disrupted the regular activities of the everyday local man finding it difficult to carry on with his regular daily activites, some business owners lose their life while trying to re secure some of their goods and money they left in their shops. Its has been a black Wednesday as even the atmosphere is filled with overwhelming soot and smoke coming from ashes with street desolated.

The Fire incident that happened at upper was a poor and grim summary of our "so called" Government, who claim to be after the welfare of the citizens.

  • The fire outbreak occurred on Wednesday, caused by a Tanker explosion and for more than 2-3 hours, emergency response from Fire Service in Onitsha, or Awka could not respond due to poor management culture and failed infastructure

  • There was no presence of NEMA Anambra state Zonal Office to respond to the huge humanitarian disaster and assist people who were injured or perform first aid to people who suffered smoke inhalation coming from the razing fire.

  • No Police or Security Presence to Cordon of the Area which was burning or to maintain or prevent the breakdown of law and order and to also control the situation to a minimal level, even with the many check point they erect on the road side they couldn't respond.

  • No immediate response from government to acknowledge the disaster and stand in solidarity with the victims and people who lost lives and property, even after calling their emergency numbers they didn't still respond.

  • No proper or inadequate Medical Response/Preparedness in the General Hospitals or Teaching Hospitals to assist burn victims in receiving urgent medical care.

  1. Delta State Fire Service sending Fire Trucks to Anambra state to fight the deadly inferno.

The whole events today summed up the sorry state of affairs in Anambra state and Nigeria as a whole.

Tomorrow, the poor governor will carry a large convoy of Jeeps, Hilux (that can buy many Fire Trucks) and come and cry crocodile tears in front of the media.

This is not the first time this kind of scenario will be happening and nothing will be done after the governor's press briefing tomorrow.

We are in a sorry situation. Nothing is working. Government are not really prepared. Very poor! Very Appalling!

Our thoughts and prayers goes out to all victims of the Fire disaster in Onitsha today, especially the woman who was burnt to death clutching her little child. (It was the most disturbing image to watch today)
