North Korea Guam missile strike plan 'ready by mid-August'
North Korea says its intend to flame four rockets close to the US domain of Guam will soon be prepared, as a war of words with Washington escalates.
State media said Hwasong-12 rockets would ignore Japan and land in the ocean around 30km (17 miles) from Guam, if the arrangement was endorsed by Kim Jong-un.
It impugned Donald Trump's notices of "flame and fierceness" and said the US pioneer was "dispossessed of reason".
The US has cautioned the North its activities could mean the "end of its administration".
US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Pyongyang would be "horribly overmatched" in any war against the US and its partners.
The BBC's Rupert Wingfield-Hayes, who is in Guam, says there is a feeling that the North Korean risk is explanatory, as a great many people feel that in the event that they truly struck with rockets it would be self-destructive for the North Korean administration.
