More than 12 stations are coming under this facility soon. Along with this, a decision has been taken to launch continuous WiFi service on 6 intercity trains.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Railway Ministry held on Sunday in the Parliament House said this information was given by Railway Ministry.
A meeting was presided over by the president of the committee. B. M Fazle Karim Chowdhury Railway Minister Mujibul Haque, Muhammad Mizanur Rahman, Sirajul Islam Molla and Yasin Ali took part. Ministry secretaries, railway officials and senior officials of the Ministry of Parliament Secretariat and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
The Parliament Secretariat said that WiFi Saba has been opened at 13 railway stations of Bangladesh Railway (Dhaka, Dhaka Airport, Chittagong, Feni, Comilla, Sylhet, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Bogra, Dinajpur, Rangpur, Jessore and Khulna).
The agreement has been signed to provide services to 12 railway stations (Laksam, Akhaura, Chandpur, Jamalpur, Bhairab Bazar, Ishwardi, Parbatipur, Syedpur, Lalmonirhat, Narsingdi, Dhaka Cantonment and Banani stations) and activities are ongoing. Besides, Bangladesh Railway Agreement has been signed with Robi Axiata Limited for providing free WiFi service to six interconnected trains of Bangladesh Railway (Sonar Bangla, Golden Parabat, Sundarban, Ekata and Dhumketu) in the air-conditioned coaches.
