US company can now print a house for $10,000 in one day.

The US-based company Icon has developed a 3D-printing machine that can build a concrete house in less than a day with a price tag of $10,000.

Their next plan is to build 100 houses in El Salvador, where many constructions still consist of a sand floor with very thin walls and they lack access to running water. The newly printed houses would have a living room, bathroom and one bedroom. The Vulkan-scanner can also be used for other constructions, which would unlock even more potential building projects.

Icon CEO Jason Ballard stresses that the solution is ecological as well, as there's almost no waste being generated during the building process. He also adds that the goal is to reduce the price even more, until they can offer a house for less than $4,000.
