EW-LMND Aceh, Asks the Police Chief to Investigate the Related Arrest of Citizens

Hello everyone, while the Executive Region of the National Student League for Democracy (EW-LMND) in Aceh asked the Regional Police Chief to investigate thoroughly the wrongful arrest of three citizens. This is related to the killing of Bripka Faisal which occurred in the area of ​​Bantayan Beach, Seunuddon District, North Aceh Regency, (26/8).

The three people are residents who work as motorcycle taxi drivers, Syahrul, Faisal, and Bahagia, residents of Meunasah Asan Village, Madat District, East Aceh.

Chairman of the EW-LMND Aceh, Munzir Abe said, "The wrong arrest case is that the police must be responsible, because the persecution carried out by North Aceh Police officers against the victims violates human rights," he said.

Munzir added, "There should be a thorough investigation in order for the police to carry out the task so that it does not harm innocent people.

And this is a proof of the weak performance of intelligence in the case of investigating a case in the jurisdiction of North Aceh Police, "he said.

"We hope that the Aceh Regional Police should be pro-active in investigating cases of wrongful arrests, because apologies alone are not enough because this concerns the essence of a human being and the Regional Police must promise that similar incidents will not happen again," he concluded.
