A five-meter-long crocodile, bloodied on his jaw after devouring a calf, has threatened a man doing garden duties.

The man was shocked when he returned and saw the massive crocodile pressing on the fence on the Adelaide River, in northern territory, with his mouth open.

A barbed wire fence and the fact that the crocodile had just eaten a calf were the reasons the beast did not attack the defenseless man, NT News reported.

Crocodile expert Grahame Webb said it was unusual for saltwater crocodiles to appear during the dry season in the Top End.

The crocodile is taught to be exactly 4.7 meters long.
