Hyundai introduced a new crossover on hydrogen

At an exhibition of consumer electronics in Las Vegas, Hyundai introduced a new crossover on hydrogen cells - NEXO. This is a production model based on last year's FE Fuel Cell concepts and Next Generation FCEV.

The novelty, which is the successor of the ix35 / Tucson Fuel Cell, will appear in individual markets as early as the beginning of 2018, that is, in the near future. Unlike its predecessor, based on the ICE model, NEXO received a unique architecture that ensures the optimal arrangement of the elements of the power plant.

Specifications Hyundai NEXO may vary depending on the market. So, for the USA, a 120-kilowatt (163-strong) electric motor is declared, which is powered by a 95-kilowatt block of fuel cells and a 40-kilowatt battery. Acceleration to 96 km / h takes 9.9 seconds compared to 12.5 seconds for the 136-horsepower Tucson Fuel Cell.
