After capturing Ma'arr Shurin the Syrian Army has effectively gained the fire control of the M5 highway north of the town of Maarat al-Nu'man and made the lives of the rebel forces south of it hard:

All signs are there that a long awaited Aleppo offensive has started last night with the 4th Brigade using heavy artillery (including the GRADs and IRAMs) during the night to soften the rebels position. The initial attack has been repeled by the rebels and there are multiple casualties reported on the government side.
