How will steemit change the future of social media?

As many of you already know, steemit.com is the best social network that functions like Reddit, but with one HUGE difference: Steemit pays both the content creators when their work gets up-voted, as well as the people who curate the best content on the site by up-voting others work. To me and many others, steemit always felt like it was missing something like an unsolved puzzle. Today in this article, I will introduce you to Zappl and DTube. As these were indeed, the missing pieces that the steemit community truly needed.

What is Zappl?

Zappl is the decentralized version of Twitter, that would be launched on the Steem blockchain. There will be great incentive to use Zappl because if you already have a steemit account, all you need to do is log in with your steemit credentials and you can begin zapping away about the latest news right from your IOS or Andriod device! Well, not yet at least. Since zappl is only in the development stages we won't be able to do it right now but if you follow @zappl on steemit.com you will know when it will be launched for IOS or Andriod devices.

How do you purchase zappl tokens?

You can purchase zappl tokens on Bitshares but the dex coins do not prove ownership in the company its self. Therefore instead, if you want to truly invest in zappl, you must meet 2 conditions. Be a USA citizen and invest at least $12,000 USD. Yeah, kinda strange, but it is what it is. If you prefer to buy zappl on BitShares listen up!

Dex coins agreement:
49% of the earnings from the site would be used to gradually buy back the token.
Gradual Buy back would occur with in the the first 3-4 month from sites profits.
Perks would be included for those holding them till 7 days after the launch.
Buy backs would occur every 3 months or sooner depending on the profits.

As you can see, the design looks very similar to twitter, making it very intuitive to post, retweet, and upvote. No learning curve whatsoever! There is an incentive to use Zappl because the the more attention that is spent on steem based apps, the more value that is created for steem thus raising the value of steem and therefore raising the entire value of the steem ecosystem.

Now, let's turn our attention to DTube.

What is DTube?

DTube is an application fully written in javascript, that runs in the browser, that allows you to upload and watch videos on top of the IPFS Network. Moreover, it uses STEEM as a database and enables earning rewards from your uploads.

And did I mention, you can use it right now?!

Simply login on DTube with your steem username and instead of entering your regular password, enter your Private Posting Key instead. Also, don't forget to follow @heimindanger on steemit as he is the developer for DTube!

Now, that DTube is online and functioning well, content creators can finally say whatever they want without fear of their videos being taken down, but is there a limit to this? What if someone uploads objectionable content that is deemed inappropriate or illegal? Will we have a say in this?
