See How a Sea Lion Dragged Young Girl Into the Water

A sea lion was recently captured on video pulling a little girl into the water where people had come around to watch the large seal which had suddenly gained entrance into a harbor swim.

The horrific act occurred just where they had gathered to watch after the wild animal. To the horror of everyone around the harbor, the sea lion grabbed the little girl by the cloth and without haste, pulled her into the water in Richmond’s Stevenson Fisherman Wharf, Canada.

After the animal surfaced from the water, the footage showed some onlookers watching keenly as the animal swam closer to the pier.

In a bid to catch a clearer view of the aquatic animal, a fascinated-looking young girl takes a bolder step by getting closer to the water towards the edge of the pier to get seated.

All of a sudden, the sea lion came jumping out of the water to bite the little girl’s dress and draggle her into the water.
Astonished tourists who were seen watching on at the time, could not help but scream in panic as the girl fell backward into the water.

Without haste, a man believed to be a close relative to the girl jumped into the water to pull her out. Though there were no obvious traces of injuries, the little girl appeared to be more terrified than harmed as she walked away.

Though the incident occurred just within hours, Michael Fujiwara was able to capture the whole scene was during the time he was filming the aquatic animal swimming in the harbor.

According to him, it was the presence of the sea lion that caught the attention of everyone, including the young girl. Mr. Fujiwara said, “ the animal got a little too comfortable when the little girl and her family started feeding it with bread crumbs or whatever it was.”
