The couple held a lavish, star-studded wedding ceremony at their Bel-Air mansion back in 2015, but a weekend TMZ report indicates that there are no official records indicating that Theroux and Aniston were ever actually married.

Following the former couple's shocking joint announcement on Thursday night announcing their split, TMZ did some digging through the L.A. County marriage records dating back to 2010 and found no record of a marriage license in the couple's names.
Of course, it's plausible that Aniston and Theroux obtained a marriage license in another county in their home state of California, but TMZ alleges that sources close to the former "Friends" actress "say there's been talk for a long time [that] they might not be legally married.
