Government Set Coal for Maximum Electricity 70 US Dollars

Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) sets the price of coal for domestic electricity needs of a maximum of 70 US dollars or equivalent to Rp 965,000. The special pricing is retroactive from 1 January 2018 to December 2019. That is, sales contracts that have run since January 1, 2018 will be adjusted. "The determination of the selling price of coal for the steam power plant to keep electricity tariffs maintained, in order to protect the purchasing power of people and competitive industries," said Minister of ESDM Ignasius Jonan through his official statement on Friday (9/3/2018). He added that this pricing applies only to electricity needs only. While the price of coal outside it will refer to the price of Coal Reference (HBA).
