Truck Driver Complains Many Pungli, President Jokowi Shocked

President Jokowi stay in touch with truck drivers at the State Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (8/5/2018).
JAKARTA, - President Joko Widodo surprised the truck driver complained about the many illegal charges.

The moment came as President Jokowi met with truck drivers at the State Palace here on Tuesday.

"We still have a lot of levies?" asked the President to dozens of truck drivers from various regions in attendance.

They also immediately compactly answered that the illegal still happens a lot.

"Still," the truckers replied in unison.

President Jokowi was surprised to get that answer. He paused for a moment and again asked the drivers in front of him.

"Oh Still? Is there a lot or more?"

"Add a lot," replied the compact truck driver.

The drivers then one by one complained. According to them, levies on the streets are mostly done by thugs.

This extortion occurred in the cross of Sumatra from Aceh to Lampung. There is also a complaint pungli by thugs in Samarinda-Balikpapan.
