WHY SOME PEOPLE CAN'T BE INFECTED WITH HIV/AIDS
Many of us are always scared of being infected with HIV/AIDS this is because there is no proven cure. However there are some people that can never be infected no matter how they come in contact with infected people's blood or have unprotected sex with infected people.
Now let's understand what i am saying
Humans have cd4+ cells which are white blood cells that fight against infection and it is this cd4 cells that the virus targets to kill and once it does that ,these cd4+ cells are reduced & not able to fight against HIV again hence making the patient affected. And in the case of the people who can't contract the virus,These cd4+ cells have a protein (CCR5) and it is this protein that HIV latches on to infect the cells.
In some humans, this protein is absent on the surface of the cells hence preventing HIV from infecting the cells,This is a mutation which is supposed to be a disadvantage but in this case of HIV ,it is an advantage .This mutation is called Delta 32
This mutation doesn't happen in everybody
