- "The Venus Project proposes an alternative vision of what the future can be if we apply what we already know in order to achieve a sustainable new world civilization. It calls for a straightforward redesign of our culture in which the age-old inadequacies of war, poverty, hunger, debt and unnecessary human suffering are viewed not only as avoidable, but as totally unacceptable. Anything less will result in a continuation of the same catalog of problems inherent in today's world."

Over a decade ago now, I was introduced to a new an innovative project called 'The Venus Project'. The two great souls behind it - Jacque Fresco & Roxanne Meadows, have been working tirelessly on what many believe is the best attempt yet at tackling the many challenges we face as a global society. The project acknowledges a flawed monetary system, and offers an alternative cultural redesign that is bold and extraordinary in it's proposals. The aims of The Venus Project is to cultivate workable systems that manage the planets resources effectively - this being an RBE (Resource-Based Economy).

The applications of an RBE in place of a fiat currency, redirects the measure of progress away from a cost/profit incentive, and towards a resource/needs based incentive. This is achieved through intelligent use and design of autonomous technologies, which substitute undesirable human servitude where deemed. For a detailed look into what The Venus Project is all about, and to participate in this global movement yourself, please visit the site, and get informed with the feature length documentary below.

I Have geard and read much about this project. It worth of telling more about. Thank you.

They recently won an award at the UN this year for the Novus event :) It's a long time coming, but still, progress is progress.

heard and followed this project for a while now- love the designs and concept and something to definately get involved with

Remember a long time ago when talks of a documentary was on the table? It's good to see so much support behind this project now, it's gained a lot of momentum :)

I like the way you explain this, cost/profit v's resource/needs incentive. Thanks.

Thanks, I guess I'm kinda recycling from where I have researched. I think it was Peter Joseph from the Zeitgeist series that first illustrated this point to me.
