Forbes is Fake News

in #news6 years ago (edited)

Forbes just released an article about Dlive which was total fake news. Here's the article:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/billybambrough/2019/04/12/pewdiepie-is-edging-closer-to-bitcoin-and-crypto

It starts with the following paragraph:

PewDiePie, one of the world's biggest internet stars and long-time holder of the most subscribed YouTube channel, has signed an exclusive deal with blockchain streaming platform DLive, edging PewDiePie closer to bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as his fractious relationship with mainstream services and the media continues.

The author called Dlive, "blockchain streaming platform". The problem is, Dlive doesn't have a functional blockchain. All they have is a testnet which is of course entirely controlled by them. I wouldn't call that a blockchain because I can't verify it. Nor would any sane person.

DLive, a decentralized network for live streaming videos where content providers and consumers are rewarded with a cryptocurrency called Lino, claims to take no percentage of creator earnings and does not charge fees. Lino raised $20 million early last year in a private token sale to build what it called "YouTube on the blockchain."

Hello, what part of Dlive is decentralized? Well, none. Dlive doesn't have a single component that is decentralized. The entire thing is under Dlive team's control.

PewDiePie's move to a decentralized platform will likely bring awareness of bitcoin, blockchain technology, and cryptocurrencies to PewDiePie's audience, which is mostly aged between 18-24, making up 44% of his views.

Why so when Dlive has nothing decentralized in it. Oh, and what about the ponzi like structure of Dlive? Did the guy who wrote this article even make an account on Dlive to check it out?

I am not sure why Forbes worte this article but I do have suspicions that it was a sponsored article made to promote Dlive. Otherwise I don't see any other reason why they would write a blatant fake news article.

We know how the Dlive team deceived steemians and exited from Steem with all their lies. So, consider making your voice heard about this fake news promotions of Dlive in twitter, reddit or other platforms. I made a tweet about this, so consider retweeting that for more exposure.

I totally agree with you. Dlive is gonna produce some bad rep for actual platforms on a blockchain like steemit. Horrible TOS too.

They only want to smear the whole crypto space. It's all BS.
