RE: Former Guantanamo Bay Prisoner Omar Khadr Issued Apology And $10.5 Million
Exactly Dan. I spoke with him in 2015 and interviewed his lawyer. What they did to him was sickening and the things he was forced at gun point to do as a child were sickening too. He was used by the CIA/Al Qaeda for years as a child, hit the age of 15 and was used by the DHS at Gitmo for years, abused, beaten and even raped.
I'm disgusted by Trudeau as much as the next guy but just because the news is trying to rile people up over this doesn't mean they should. He is a victim in this who unfortunately hurt a few people and destroyed a few lives, but at the end of the barrel of a gun.
Omar's victim hood was caused by his father on the other side of the world, not the people of Canada. That the people of Canada should apologize for his father's brutal mistake is an abysmal miscarriage of justice against the people of Canada. Further, the extraordinary 10 million dollar settlement is a brutal outrage for the same reason.
Well I'm not saying tax payers should pay him anything, taxation is theft. So you're missing my point. Besides, let's not forget the US government's roll in the torture and abuse of Omar.
Exactly! Crocodile tears for this mofo are missplaced...
Can he sue the US for his treatment at Gitmo? Why am I on the hook as a taxpayer for what his dad made him do?
