When Bill Hicks was alive, his material was huge over in the UK. That was at a time when the United States was all pseudo-patriotic and getting hard over the gulf war. People in the U.S. didn't want to hear any criticism of our foreign policy. But in the UK they ate it up. If he were alive today and tried to go to the UK, they'd detain him for wrongthink, label him a right-wing terrorist and boot his ass out. A lot has changed in 25 short years. It is definitely a topsey turvey world we live in at the moment.
