I'm not sure the point of Steemit is to just curate news from other sites, a la Reddit. I think it's marketed to be more for content creators. There's no stopping it from happening, and I don't think there's a right answer per se, but it's definitely an open discussion. I would favor generally not wholesale copying articles from other sites.
Correct, but it is happening for now but I do not see these post gaining traction in the future. Original posts will be up-voted, as the steemit community expands and matures.

Sometimes information is very interesting
Yea they can do like Reddit and make people pick if they are submitting a link or simply text.
