Assassinating Kavanaugh's Character
So it looks like The Brett Kavanaugh confirmation process is finally nearing the end. Now, I know it was crazy earlier, how Democrats tied to Clinton were vilifying him with the internationally recognized white power OK symbol. Or does that just mean ok?
First, fake hate crimes are more likely to occur when being a victim is incentivized. I’m going to expand that and say False Character assassinations are also more likely when a victim is incentivized. Finacially, or socially…being called brave and commended by their peers.
HuffPost recently published a story about Brett Kavanaugh’s sexual assault accuser who has said “I thought he might Inadvertently Kill me.” It’s a good this happened though, I almost thought the rest of the process was going to go normally, I started getting a little worried. Ah, sweet chaos.
So should we be worried about this? Let’s quickly cover the four big facts, because we don’t mess with small facts.
- The Democrats knew about this for months, and only brought it up now. They’re obviously just trying to delay the nomination.
- Kavanaugh denied the accusation, Mark Judge who was also supposedly there denied the accusations as well. Show Pic from article
- The Washington Post obtained the therapist’s notes, but they didn’t mention Kavanaugh. The notes claim there were 4 boys involved, but now it’s just two boys. That’s a 50% drop in boys. The accuser says that was an error on the therapist’s part. Remember, you have to believe it or you're sexist, or is that gullible? I don’t remember.
- The accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, a 51 year old research psychologist submitted to a Polygraph test, which she passed.
However, a polygraph test doesn’t indicate truth, but belief. Gather around the campfire it’s time to have a talk. Here’s a huge red flag “SHE NEVER TOLD ANYONE OF ANY SUPPOSED INCIDENT UNTIL 2012 TO HER THERAPIST”. Why is that a red flag? Even if this is a genuine accusation, and not a partisan attack. These could be false memories. This is a true, and unfortunately common psychological phenomena.
Have a seat around the campfire and let me tell you a story. In 2015 two sisters had given the police vivid descriptions of being sexually abused by a close female relative. They alleged the abuse had taken place between 1975 and 1976. The women would have been around 4 and 7 years old and the relative being accused was between 10-12. After the older sister saw a photograph on Facebook, memories of being made to commit sexual acts surfaced. And eventually, the case was dropped because of evidence the defendant provided in court.
But this isn’t just an anecdote, it’s a pattern. In 1993 the British Psychological Society found that some psychologists might be inadvertently implanting false memories of child sexual abuse in their clients. How does this happen? Is this some evil conspiracy? No, it’s accidental. Elizabeth Loftus is a memory researcher who proposed the following scenario to explain how false memories can come about in therapy. I’ll read this in my Academic voice.
Clients with no suspicion of having been abused enter treatment with a therapist who suggests their problems are likely to stem from repressed memories of child sexual abuse. The therapist encourages them to recover the memories using hypnosis, guided imagery or related techniques. The clients are persuaded by the therapist to treat the resulting material as fact, and typically go on to create ever more elaborate ‘memories’ based on suggestion or fantasy.
For this case of character assassination. We deserve better than a memory of something happening decades ago, not corroborated by witnesses, or evidence, and only brought to light from therapy. It shouldn’t be this easy to smear someone. If we allow ourselves to be led by the nose, we could live in a society where anybody could say anything about anyone in power and influence government from the shadows. Or maybe it’s already like this. But don’t worry guys. Who can understand the character assassination piece on HuffPost? And what to do about it?
Well, I’ve got good news there’s a great article titled “how to Survive a Character Assassination” published on HuffPost. Let’s see what HuffPost has to say about surviving a HuffPost attack.
Let’s see, If you are a dynamic, successful individual, a born leader, highly charismatic, popular, attractive, or all of these things, then at some point you are guaranteed to be the target of character assassination… seems applicable
So why would this happen…if your attackers are Jealous (like Feinstein wishing she could choose the Justice), Angry (Like Democrats feeling that Republicans stole the seat), Devious (Like Cory Booker lying about breaking Senate rules so he could grandstand to his base), but my favorite is Envious (Where you act like a giant mirror, reflecting back their own perceived inadequacies and lame excuses for not getting on with their lives). Straight from HuffPost’s mouth.
What’s the solution, don’t lower yourself to use the tolls they would use, maintain your integrity and take pride in what you do. You know, this might be the best HuffPost article I’ve read.
It will probably end up being a he said she said argument. I don't think she has any physical proof of the event.
