SpaceX’s Earth views need a license now, probably thanks to the Tesla stunt
SpaceX now needs to get a license from NOAA for its rocket cameras. The cameras take video of the Earth from orbit, and NOAA regulates imagery of Earth taken from space, thanks to a 26-year-old law. What changed? It’s possible that SpaceX may be in NOAA’s crosshairs because of the company’s recent Falcon Heavy launch and famous Starman livestream.
