Kominfo pun langsung mengirimkan notifikasi email kepada Tumblr sejak 28 Februari untuk membersihkan konten negatif tersebut. Kominfo memberikan batas waktu 2 x 24 jam agar Tumblr segera membersihkan konten negatif yang terdapat di platform miliknya.
