Moscow looking into "B-Voting" to eliminate voting fraud

Officials from the Government Moscow have revealed plans to investigate the use of blockchain technology as a way of registering official votes.

A report in Gazeta.ru said, Andrey Belozerov Deputy Head of the Department of Information Technologies (DIT) of Moscow, has outlined that the agency is now looking into ways on how to apply blockchain to eliminate voting fraud.

According to the article, Moscow hopes to use the technology by incorporating blockchain into " Active Citizen " an e-government effort aimed at getting citizens more involved in local decision-making. Active Citizen is still currently in progress. The venture may be backed with the help of Sberbank of Russia.

The project fall in line with Russia's uptake in global technologies for domestic developments.
