Soo Quiet! [sorry]

in #news6 years ago

Hi folks,

A massive apologies for lack of content in the last 3 weeks.

We've been away on holiday to Cornwall for a week and the Eggmobile decided to have coolant issues. Just what you want when you're 400 miles away from home :(

Along with other stuff that was due soon (tyres, timing belt, water pump, brakes, etc, etc), we've 'bitten the bullet' and had it all sorted to the tune of 1200 quid :( :(

On a positive note; I've become an Uncle :) Last Sunday we drove up to Sunderland to see my little nephew. Extremely happy for my brother, his partner and the little one.

I've been 'lab' testing the SH2OMI [version 2.0] and all seem good so hopefully there will be updates on this soon.

Short n sweet folks so TTFN,

Eggy

OOOFF!
Did the Timing belt break? It happened to me a few years back at around the same price... (I'll never get another Alfa Romeo again lol.

Hi PV, it didn't break but it was due for changing by Nov so I thought while water pump was being done it was cost effective to do the belt as well. Skoda state 5 years or 75k miles for the timing belt which is quite a duration compared to many. Car is 5 years old in Dec and already done 56k miles.

Yeah, I have learnt my lesson about Cambelts! My Alfa blew a load of valves straight into the top of the engine.... OOOFF! ££££££££!
Now, every time I get a vehicle, it's serviced straight away and the Cambelt + Water filter are changed....
My van has a timing chain (relief)....

Easy to see why manufacturers opt for the belt rather than the chain............ servicing revenue :(

Yeah, they really got you by the balls with belts....
I was surprised when i found out that my van has a CHAIN lol = Little victories.

All the little victories help :)

Hope you had a great holiday 😀 only thing is you'll now need another to rest from the last one lol

It's been quite a hectic one while daughter's been off. I thought the BIG Hols was s'pose to be relaxing!!! LOL

Thank you btw :)
