What do you know about the iPhone X?

Apple's dependence on Korean component makers continues to increase following the launch of the latest version of the iPhone. This is the first phone to own Apple's OLED screen, where Samsung and LG are the main providers.

OLED screens and 3D cameras are two new special features of the iPhone X. This is the first time Samsung Display provides an OLED display panel for the iPhone. LG Innoteck also offers 3D touch modules for Apple. Both firms are increasing their investment, including new manufacturing facilities to prepare for iPhone orders.

Samsung's Electro-Mechanics division is also benefiting from Apple's orders. This unit specializes in providing multi-layered ceramic capacitors to ensure the power supply to the processor chips, flexible printed circuit boards that connect the chips to each component such as the display and the camera.

Apple is also diversifying its suppliers of critical components such as the RFPCB printed circuit board, adding two Korean manufacturers, BH and Interflex.

Samsung SDI and LG Chem are tasked with providing batteries for all three new iPhone models - iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. For next year's model, Apple intends to use an L-shaped battery for faster recharging rates.
