It is planned to create "Ethereum Island" in Mauritius
Start-up ConsenSys is establishing a partnership with the state of Mauritius to create the "Ethereum Island", a center for developers in the field of crypto-currency and lock-up.
Joseph Lubin, the founder of the company, and a team of other top managers from ConsenSys visited the island in early July to meet with the Investment Council, the Bank of Mauritius and other representatives of the government and the private sector. Communicating with the local press, Lubin noted the high level of knowledge and surprising enthusiasm of state employees:
According to ConsenSys, in small states that are striving for the introduction of new technologies, there is a real potential for the development of block projects. ConsenSys will contribute to the creation of an "ecosystem" of blockage, as well as the selection of developers and project leaders.
Mauritius, located 700 miles east of Madagascar, has already established itself as an offshore center. In addition, Mauritius has tax agreements with more than 20 African countries, including South Africa, Zambia, Uganda and Rwanda.
