The fungi plastic eaters are the new weapon in the fight against garbage

A new study by Royal Botanic Gardens Kew in London states that fungus are capable of accelerating the decomposition of plastic waste. 

The fungus Aspergillus tubingensis, the fungus has the ability to grow directly on the surface of plastics, where it breaks the chemical bonds between the plastic molecules. Armed with a unique enzyme, Aspergillus tubingensis is one of the most interesting fungi presented.
